NCFDD Summer Programs! JJ has an NCFDD institutional membership – so all faculty – part-time, full-time, and doctoral students – have free individual accounts and can attend:
- The 14-day writing challenge, July 6-July 19 (register by June 26): challenge yourself to write daily, share progress with colleagues. Register for the Writing Challenge
- To claim your NCFDD account:(a) Go to https://www.ncfdd.org/join; (b) choose John Jay; (c) select “Activate my Membership”; (d) complete registration with your jjay email address; (e) confirm in jjay email by clicking “Activate Account”.
Workshop: Creating Accessible Experiences for Deaf Students – Lewanda Miller (CUNY) facilitated a series of workshops on supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing students. With permission from the National Deaf Center, we are sharing the recording and transcript of one of the workshops for its content and modeling of inclusive and accessible practices: Workshop Recording. Call for Applications to the Career Success Fellows program, committed to enhancing CUNY’s role as a powerful engine of social mobility and preparing our students for successful, meaningful futures. Seeking new Faculty Fellows to bring fresh perspectives, energy, and leadership to this important initiative, with the rollout of
CUNY Beyond.
Open to full-time faculty from all disciplines to serve in 2026–2027. Fellows will:
- Attend and contribute to a collaborative professional development series (5 sessions)
- Create a strategic plan to advance the Career Success Fellows goals: (1) integrate career-relevant content into their courses; (2) serve as faculty leaders on campuses; and (3) collaborate with administrators/staff to promote career readiness at CUNY.
- Submit a report of their activities to the leadership team. See previous work by Fellows in the Career Success Fellows compendium.
Fellows receive:
- Compensation ($1000) and potential funding to support their goals.
- An opportunity to collaborate and network with CUNY faculty across campuses.
- Professional development training on integrating career-connected learning.
