The Teaching and Learning Center at CUNY Graduate Center is hosting two events at the Graduate Center on Friday, February 20th to celebrate the launch of The Campus Crisis Toolkit, which is coming from SUNY Press in March!

  • Lunch and Learn (12-3 PM) with contributing authors, NYC area educational developers, and critical university studies scholars. Hear about the book and connect with other scholars and academic staff to discuss how you’ve navigated crisis in your own spaces. Lunch will be served. RSVP HERE
  • Panel on “The University & the Polycrisis” (5:30-7 PM) featuring remarks by Joshua Brumberg and Cathy Davidson, and discussion with Kevin Gannon (Queens University of Charlotte), Lisa Di Bartolomeo (Formerly of West Virginia University), Robin G. The Italian Diaspora Studies Summer Seminar™ (IDSSS) is delighted to offer free enrollment for IDSSS this summer, June 15-July 3, 2026, for up to four members of the teaching faculty and HEO series. Funded by fellowships from CUNY EVC for Academic Affairs Alicia Alvero, four CUNY colleagues will attend the professional development seminar on the Italian diaspora at no cost. Participants stay at a 4-star hotel for 3 weeks, attend classes at Roma Tre University, and receive breakfast and lunch. The fellowship covers the seminar’s $3,500 fee (airfare and other fees not included). Direct inquiries to The John D. Prizes and Awards

Call for Applications: The Office for the Advancement of Research (OAR) recognizes faculty achievement through the programs belowDeadline: Thurs, Feb 12. Submit applications to [email protected]. Email OAR for application form

  • Faculty Scholarly Excellence Award: Tenure-track or tenured faculty with exceptional scholarship in the last 3 calendar years (2023, 2024, 2025)
  • Donal EJ MacNamara Junior Faculty Award:  Instructor or assistant professor with a significant scholarly contribution in last 2 years to criminal justice or criminology

Nominations OPEN for The Distinguished Faculty Service to the College Award recognizes a full- or part-time faculty member for special achievement in service and/or leadership. Honorees will have a sustained record of outstanding service contributions to the College and receive $1,000. Nominations may be submitted by faculty or staff. Deadline – Feb 15: Nomination Form. Nominations OPEN for The Faculty Service to Students Award, presented each year to a full- or part-time faculty member who makes exceptional contributions to the lives of students at JJ. Demonstrations of service may include but are not limited to ad-hoc or formal mentoring, support of student activities, and advisement. The recipient receives recognition and $1,000. Nominations are due on or before February 20, 2026.  Please submit a 1-page nomination letter outlining reasons a faculty member is deserving of the award to Michael Lee, Administrative Executive Assistant, [email protected].

Nominations OPEN for 2026 Outstanding Faculty Mentor AwardsApplication deadline: April 1, 2026.
